Athena & Owl Pendant in Solid 18ct Gold with Optional Wheat Chain

This substantial Athena and Owl pendant takes its form from an original Athenian tetradrachm more than 2,000 years old. Cast in solid 18ct yellow gold and finished individually by hand, it has the deep relief and softly irregular edge of the ancient coin that inspired it.

Choose the pendant alone, or add a matching solid 18ct yellow gold wheat chain. The pendant and the optional chain are both hallmarked 750 for their 18ct gold fineness.

Athena and her owl

One face shows Athena wearing an Attic helmet decorated with olive leaves and a spiral palmette. On the reverse, her owl stands beside an olive sprig, a crescent and the Greek inscription ΑΘΕ, the mark of Athens.

Athena has long been associated with wisdom, courage and craft. Her owl gives this piece a quiet symbolism that reaches beyond its ancient origins.

Pendant and chain options

Select the pendant on its own or choose a 1.5 mm round wheat chain in solid 18ct yellow gold. The closely woven chain has a subtle texture and fastens with a secure trigger clasp.

Chain lengths: 16 inches, 18 inches or 20 inches. The pendant and the chain each carry a UK 750 hallmark. If you select pendant only, no chain is supplied.

Both pieces are solid gold, not plated, filled or vermeil.

Each pendant is made to order and individually finished by me in Dorset. Please allow approximately 2 to 4 weeks for casting, finishing and hallmarking before dispatch. Delivery time begins once your piece has been sent.
