About RookFire
RookFire is an independent jewellery studio run by me, Dan O'Rourke. I have been making jewellery since 2014, working primarily in precious metals, stones and materials chosen for the piece rather than for a particular category.
The work starts with an idea. Sometimes that means an ancient coin, sometimes casting, engraving, unusual structures, experimental materials or simply trying to make something I have not seen before.
I design, prototype, make and finish the work with a focus on pieces that have identity and presence, rather than jewellery designed to disappear into a trend.
RookFire is not tied to one collection or period. Ancient pieces sit alongside contemporary fine jewellery and more experimental work, with the same aim throughout: to make objects worth keeping.
Everything is made in small numbers or to order in England.
