This beautiful necklace features a double-sided charm pendant cast from an original Greek coin that is over 2000 years old. The front side of the coin depicts the image of the goddess Athena, the goddess of wisdom, standing beside an owl, a symbol of knowledge. The reverse side displays a helmeted head of Athena, wearing a crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over visor and a spiral palmette on the bowl. The coin is inscribed with AQE, owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind; all within an incuse square.
